Synaptics recently debuted the fuse concept mobile device which adds even more dimensions to the idea of a touchscreen display. The company is a leading human interface maker who pioneered toushscreen displays in mobile device and laptop trackpads. The new device is a collaboration with a number of other companies.
Instead of using user input from only the screen, the fuse uses multi-touch capacitive sensing, haptic feedback, 3d graphics and proximity sensing to sense input from multiple dimensions. This means that users can tilt the device to navigate around or squeeze it to select, allowing them to control their device with one hand.
